Will my butterflies be ok during transit?
The insulated packaging is designed and tested to accommodate the anticipated transit timeframe, and longer. We include a cooling gel-pack which maintains a temperature below that which the butterflies become active, and keeps them in the best condition.
How do I care for my butterflies until the release?
We will provide you with an information sheet covering how to care for your butterflies between delivery and release - Keep them in a cool place and swap the supplied cooling pack for a similar fresh one.
What happens to the butterflies after they are released?
Many customers have asked if the butterflies fly home afterwards....we would love to say yes they are trained, but no they are not homing-butterflies!
They will simply follow their natural instincts and seek food and/or shelter. If there are food sources nearby and bushes/trees on which to rest, they can often be seen in the area for days afterwards.

How can I incorporate a release into my event?
Discuss with your Celebrant & Photographer & decide how best to include and/or photograph your butterflies in the short time you may have. The internet is full of sentiments and ideas which can be incorporated into proceedings.
Individual Triangle release boxes are great to allow multiple people to release a butterfly each. A small mass release box is a great way to include children in any ceremony.

What if my butterflies don't want to fly off?
Ideally a warm sunny day with only a light breeze will give best results provided the butterflies have been allowed to warm up prior to show-time.
It is best to consider a few alternative actions should conditions not be favourable for prompt 'fluttering'. First, try firmly tapping the bottom of the box to prompt them to fly off. If there are still some butterflies left, you can let them walk onto your fingertip and then try and gently blow - or simply place them onto nearby bouquets of flowers or clothing - photographers love this!
Even after all this - there may be Butterflies who are happy to just sit and warm up with somebody special, which can be memorable in itself.
